Hello my name is Coach Shafer.  I am the female Health and Physical Education Teacher. This is my 12th year at Marbut. I have the honor of serving as the Special Areas Department Chari for the current school year. 1. Pacer Run:Cardiovascular/Cardiorespiratory Endurance
 
2. Body Mass Index (BMI): Height/Weight/Age/Gender comparison
 
3. 90 Degree Push-Ups: Upper Body Muscular Strength and Endurance
 
4. Curl-Ups: Abdominal Muscular Strength and Endurance
 
5. Back Saver Sit-and-Reach: Flexibility

  • Female Coach: Coach Shafer              Male Coach: Coach Wooley
  • Health/Physical Education is Fitness Based. Students will be taught many skills to be able to exercise 60 minutes a day. Students will be taught how to be healthy taking care of their physical, social/emotional, and mental health.
  • The Marbut Health/Physical Education Department is involved with 2 grants.  FITNESSGRAM for 4th and 5th grades and HEALTHMPOWERS K-5th.
  • Students need to wear UNIFORM tennis shoes/sneakers on their HE/PE Day. Students have HE/PE on the same day each week.
  • ALL STUDENTS are expected to participate. If unable to participate for the day, a note must be sent by Parent/Guardian to Coach Shafer/Coach Wooley excusing the student from HE/PE.
  • 3rd-5th Grade students must bring their HEALTHMPOWERS agenda to HE/PE each time they come to class.
  • Excellent behavior is expected from all students!
